Press: Supernatural 15.07 promo: Last Call

Tuesday, Nov 26, 2019

COMING SOON – The CW has released the promo for Supernatural 15.07 titled “Last Call,” featuring Dean running into an old buddy (guest star Christian Kane) while working a case. You can check out the promo in the player below and catch the episode in two weeks on December 5!

Written by Jeremy Adams and directed by Amyn Kaderali, the official synopsis for episode 15.07 reads:

“Dean (Jensen Ackles) goes off on his own to take on a case. Meanwhile, Castiel (Misha Collins) has an idea of how he can help Sam (Jared Padalecki) track down God.”

The epic journey of the Winchester brothers comes to a close as Supernatural enters i final season. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) and the angel Castiel (Misha Collins) have conquered monsters, demons, Heaven and Hell, and in the show’s 14th season, the Winchesters grappled with the Archangel Michael possessing Dean. In a valiant act, Sam and Dean’s surrogate son Jack (Alexander Calvert) destroyed his soul to redeem his adoptive father. But this proved to be a fatal error, leading to the accidental death of Mary Winchester (Samantha Smith). The 14th season also featured the return of John Winchester (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) for the show’s historic 300th episode.

Now, heading into their 15th season, Sam and Dean find themselves facing a threat beyond anything they’ve ever grappled with… anything they’ve ever imagined: God himself.

The long-running series is created by Eric Kripke (The Boys, Timeless, The House with a Clock in Its Walls) with Andrew Dabb and Robert Singer serving as co-showrunners and executive producers. Season 15 will be consisting of 20 episodes.

Press: Supernatural First Look: Dean Gets Musical, Cas Reunites With Sam

Tuesday, Nov 26, 2019

TV Line: Supernatural is on hiatus this week for the Thanksgiving holiday, but we’ve still got a treat for you: a first look at Dean singing his heart out with guest star Christian Kane in next Thursday’s episode (The CW, 8/7c).

Leverage and Angel vet Kane will play Leo Webb, a former hunter and a friend of Dean. In the hour, the elder Winchester “goes off on his own to take on a case,” per the official synopsis, which appears to lead to the musical moment seen in the attached photos. (Got guesses on the song the fellas are rockin’? Leave ’em in the comments!)

Elsewhere, Castiel is reunited with a Winchester, when he “has an idea of how he can help Sam track down God.” Also of note and worrisome: Sammy looks kind of sickly, and Eileen is tending to him with a washcloth. Could his “connection” with God be causing new side effects? Is that why Cas comes back into the fold, despite not being on the best of terms with Dean?

As soon as I get HQ photos, I will add them to the gallery.

Press: ‘Almost Paradise’: WGN America Drama Rounds Out Cast As Production Begins

Tuesday, Nov 12, 2019

DEADLINE: Samantha Richelle (Syd), Arthur Acuña (Princess and I), Nonie Buencamino (Sparks) and Ces Quesada (Invisible) have joined Christian Kane in the cast of the upcoming WGN America drama Almost Paradise. Production on the 10-episode series that cable net acquired from Electric Entertainment has begun in the Philippines for a spring premiere.

Kane stars as Alex Walker, a former DEA agent who was forced into early retirement. Once the DEA’s most resourceful undercover operative, the combination of his partner’s betrayal and a life-threatening battle with hypertension has sent him as far from the madness as he can go — the small tropical island of Cebu in the Philippines. He now runs the gift shop in the island’s luxury resort hotel, gets his disability payments at the U.S. Naval base and generally manages his transition from Jason Bourne to Jimmy Buffett.

But the island’s luxury resort has attracted rich, powerful and sometimes criminal elite from around the world, often on a collision course with Alex. Despite his best efforts to begin a tranquil new life, he’s pulled back into a world of dangerous people and deadly situations, either through his friends in the local police or running into people from his old life. And the problem is, he likes it.

Richelle plays Kai Mendoza, the youngest person ever to make a detective in the Cebu police force. She’s a woman to be reckoned with who has worked tirelessly to get where she is and must constantly fight to prove herself. When Alex enters the picture, Kai views him as an entitled know-it-all, but as they grow closer, they realize their commonalities. Acuña stars as Ernesto Almares, Kai’s partner and the soul of the law-enforcement team. Buencamino plays Ike Ocampo, chief of the Cebu Police Department, and Quesada is Cory, the manager of the hotel where Alex is staying.

Almost Paradise is produced by Electric Entertainment. Dean Devlin and Gary Rosen executive produce and serve as co-showrunners, and Electric Entertainment’s Marc Roskin and Rachel Olschan-Wilson serve as executive producers.

I found pics for three of the added actors on IMDB and Samantha Richelle on what I think is her Instagram.

Press: Supernatural: Christian Kane’s character from an alternate world?

Sunday, Nov 10, 2019

This is only an opinion piece that may not be accurate.

SPN HUNTERSSupernatural is going to bring in more alternate worlds for Season 15. We’ll get to see an alternate version of Dean. Will Christian Kane be in this world?

There are multiple dimensions in the world of Supernatural, and Season 15 is going to delve into at least one more of them. We’ll get to see an alternate version of Dean, and this could link to Christian Kane, who is coming into the season. Is it possible Kane will play a character in an alternate world?

The news of an alternate Dean comes from TVLine‘s Inside Scoop segment. We have no idea what’s going on in the alternate world, but the Last Ride trailer does give us a quick look at the version. He’s scruffy and it reminds me of the Samifer world that Zachariah created with Chuck as a human with tips to hoard toilet paper.

One thing I have started to wonder is whether Christian Kane, who is confirmed for at least one episode, will be from an alternate world. After all, Kane’s character is said to be a friend of Dean’s. There was no mention of Sam, and it’s highly possible that there’s no Sam in the alternate world that Dean is in—or Sam is Samifer?

Of course, Kane could just be someone from our Dean’s past. There is a glimpse of Kane’s character in the Last Ride trailer. This shows us Dean dressed as he normally is, suggesting the character will be in our own world.

It’s clear that anything is possible right now. We’ll be jumping worlds, we’ll meet new people, and we’ll see old friends. Are you ready?

Press: Everything We Know about Supernatural Season 15

Wednesday, Nov 6, 2019

TV GUIDE – Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) will embark on their final hunt this fall, and the Winchesters have one hell of a fight left before their journey on Supernatural comes to an end. The show’s 15th and final season is poised to be the grandest of them all, with Team Free Will set to go toe-to-toe with God following that bonkers Season 14 finale.

As we gear up for one epic last ride with the beloved ass-kicking brothers, plenty of questions remain about where the show–and its unforgettable characters–are headed in the final season. Here’s everything we know about Season 15 of Supernatural so far.

Supernatural begins its final run this October. Mark your calendars, Season 15 premieres Thursday, Oct. 10 at 8/7c on The CW.

The boys will go through an existential crisis. Sam, Dean, and Cas (Misha Collins) ended Season 14 surrounded by an army of the undead after Chuck (Rob Benedict) unleashed Hell on Earth. With the creator of all things no longer on their side, the beginning of the season finds them struggling to come to terms with the fact that God isn’t the benevolent being they all thought he was.

“The best way to characterize what Chuck did in the finale [is he] stomped his foot in a rage and tore a hole between Hell and earth,” showrunner Andrew Dabb told TV Guide during San Diego Comic-Con. “We’re with Sam, Dean and Cas who are like, ‘Oh we have to clean up this mess left by this entity that we’ve just discovered has been pulling on our strings this whole time.'”

“When the rug is pulled out from under you, that’s a big creative adjustment and we deal with that in several episodes,” added executive producer Brad Buckner. This season will explore what it means to have free world as the gang faces their toughest battle yet.

Jack will be back. Chuck may have sent Jack (Alexander Calvert) to the Big Empty with the snap of a finger, but that doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of the young Nephilim. Executive producer Bob Berens told TV Guide that Jack will spend the early part of Season 15 in the place were all angels and demons go after they die, adding that Calvert will also appear in some other form.

Adam will also return, along with other familiar faces. It looks like the Winchesters will finally get closure with their half-brother Adam, who’s been locked away in Lucifer’s (Mark Pellegrino) cage since Season 5. Jake Abel, who plays Sam and Dean’s younger sibling, is confirmed to return to the series but he won’t be alone.

“We’re looking at some characters that you’ve seen before who will come back in different ways and some characters who we haven’t met quite yet coming in or being more fully realized,” Dabb teased. “People like Death [and] the Empty, these kinds of primordial forces we’ve introduced but we haven’t really gotten to know them in a big way.”

Chuck won’t be the only bad guy the Winchesters face this season. There will also be “demi-bads,” according to Berens.

Jensen Ackles will direct an episode this season. Ackles, who helmed a handful of episodes including Season 11’s “The Bad Seed,” will again sit in the director’s chair this season. Plus, Matt Cohen, who played young John Winchester on the series, and Richard Speight Jr., who played the archangel, Gabriel, will also direct Season 15 episodes.

You’ll probably be satisfied with how Supernatural ends. “I feel like for the majority of the fans and the people that have been with us through this journey, it’s certainly going to feel right and it’s going to feel good,” Jensen Ackles said of the show’s ending during the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour. “It should put a lot of people in a position of feeling great about the journey they took with us and the Winchester brothers. That’s certainly how I feel about it, and we’re really excited to tell that story.”

This may not be the absolute end for Sam and Dean. Although the cast and crew are approaching the series finale as a “true ending,” there’s still hope that the Winchesters hop back into the Impala for new adventures down the line. “This is a long journey that I don’t think is ever going to be over,” Ackles said. “I think we’re just going to go away for a while. How long I don’t know.”

“I’m not ever ready to close doors or burn bridges. I think that’s foolish,” he added. “Am I saying that there’s something in the works? No. Am I saying that I’d be open to the conversation about doing something in the future? What’s the harm in that?”

A Season 15 trailer teases the return of some familiar faces. This first preview for the final season features a throwback to the pilot, teasing the potential return of the Woman in White among others.

The final season poster is pure art. The piece, which you can check out here, includes a stairway to heaven.

Christian Kane is headed to the series. The Angelalum will guest star as Leo Webb, a former hunter and friend of Dean Winchester, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Supernatural returns for Season 15 Thursday, Oct. 10 at 8/7c on The CW.

Press: Angel alum Christian Kane to guest star on final season of Supernatural

Wednesday, Nov 6, 2019

EW – Considering the way Supernatural ended season 14 — with God essentially ending the world and leaving the Winchesters to face a bunch of zombies — it’s safe to say that Sam and Dean can use all the friends they can get.

EW can exclusively reveal that Christian Kane, a.k.a. Lindsey McDonald from the Buffy spin-off Angel, will guest star in an upcoming episode of the hit CW series. Kane is set to play Leo Webb, a former hunter and a friend of Dean Winchester. Although we don’t know much about Leo, the fact that he’s a “former hunter” who knows Dean without mention of Sam could mean be that he knows the older Winchester brother from his hunting days with dear old dad, back before Dean showed up in Sam’s dorm room.

It’s unclear when Kane will show up or whether he’ll play into a case of the week or something more, but if he’s an old friend of Dean, let’s hope he remembers to bring the guy some pie.

Supernatural returns Thursday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
